THE TURPENTINE BROTHERS "s/t" LP

The TURPENTINE BROTHERS are back with their second - self-titled full length album. We´re delighted to have´em and to go through some massive pressing plant and printer payola to ensure that the album hits the streets right for their European Tour starting in February 6th, 2008. The TURPENTINE BROTHERS set-up is guitar, organ and drums, in persons Justin Hubbard, Tara McManus (MR. AIRPLAIN MAN) and Zack Brines (KINGS OF NUTHIN).
After playing quite a lot of shows in the east coast axis

it´s a long awaited treatment to witness them over here. Besides their influences they absorbing the Memphis/Montreal sound a lot and would do great on a trip with REIGNING SOUND and LES SEXAREENOS (the ´brothers would definitely be the noise makers in that tour bus). They got hit-and-run smashers with buzzing guitars and shout-out-loud vocals where glass get smashed and in general have that pushing, pulsating beat, urging you to move. On their alter ego, they succeed in writing slower paced songs, the organ is drawing blood, songs aka "Like a Dead Man" which are bursting of suppressed evil forces and let you creep in anonymous fear on a dirty trail with razorblades under you skin! Music wise, any obscure REATARDS or organ-driven MURDER CITY DEVILS come to mind. The Boston trio is a no bullshit no hype no compromise garage rock band with gospel, blues and soul influences standing on the right in the battle of truth vs fiction. Our #1 in the lately reborn and nationwide proclaimed ALIEN SNATCH! crusade vs.any kind of indie rock, especially from the UK. The album has 9 songs running on 45 rpm, giving you the perfect drug abuse rise and fall deal. We´re glad to add two songs originally supposed to be on 7" by SHIT SANDWICH since the baby couldn´t be initiated in time, thanks for that Norah! Lately, The TURPENTINE BROTHERS had a split 7" with COCOCOMA in SARAH MASON and will have another 7" coming out soon on RED LOUNGE. So finally we´re wondering about the fact that we continue to tie "two boys - one girl" bands to the label. (JEWWS, GHETTO WAYS, REAL LOSERS, HEX DISPENSERS) This formula seems the most explosive to us! The TURPENTINE BROTHERS are here to detonate false smiles, sweep off feet and roll on! THE TURPENTINE BROTHERS "Get Your Mind Off Me / Not Your Fashion" 7"

Out of control dance craze! First ever two song 45 RPM 7" on ALIEN SNATCH! The Boston trio spit out their whole record collection and a distinct dirtbag of talent and soul with two perfect simple yet more firing songs! To get a picture by following traces of Greg Cartwright musical history, you accidentally could file the

songs on the adorable REIGNING SOUND "Too Much Guitar" album or get reminded of the sadly missed JEWWS playing for a teenage twist party. TURPENTINE BROTHERS are real and kick those two smashers out in a breathless rush and made this a upbeat blueprint of a killer garage rock 7". The wall of sound crushes on you like a blizzard. In all the hooky organ fuzz (Zack Brines), crude guitar and trashy percussion (Tara McManus) - its singer-guitarist Justin Hubbard raunchy darkly-reverbed shouts out vocals which make you beat the interior next to you to let the excitement out. Yeah, and on top Taras screamy backing vocals and handclaps chaos - this 45 is a knockout on yer next DJ battle!
Justin and Tara began as a raw two-piece playing primal HASIL ADKINS and old-time country covers as a way to scam free drinks off of club owners. Soon Zack joined and Justin has gone on a songwriting rampage on basement blues, mid 60´s soul and proto-punk which led to the first release, the remarkable "We Don´t Care About Your Good time" album on ALIVE/BOMP. Clouded in an aura of an unearthed gem it gained outstanding reviews thru out die hard lowdown rocknroll minimalists and vintage rock revivalists. The Turpentine Brothers got it down and we have nothing than the greatest respect and belief for their output. Music fans - take a note for this brilliant 45!
