THE MOJOMATICS "Don´t Pretend That You Know Me" LP

Hey, the MOJOMATICS are THE European front runners playing this summer again all over the place - from close to the north pole in Norway to five shows in South Africa! South Africa! And we´re hiding in our German bunker keeping the secret about the vinyl version of the newest album our beloved Italians. We accompany the MOJOMATICS since years now, put out a classic 45, the first two albums and now we´re releasing the vinyl edition of the third album entitled "Don´t Pretend That You Know Me" in a edition of 1000 copies on virgin 180g vinyl with a whole different artwork than the CD release. The MOJOMATICS went adult they seek challenges so consequently recorded as clean and bright as it´s intensive and loud - all their fans will hear right away their pants-down-big studio recordings which initially let you step back and say "wow, out of your league?" And you see the first reviews pulling the WHITE STRIPES / HIVES reference. Boring. If you listen on, you reckon it´s the the MOJOMATICS own outstanding songwriting just without doing the distortion trick - the oldest trick of our garage rock underground book.

We love the MOJOMATICS to death and they got us with a brilliant 12 top notch catchy upbeat power pop smashers. Join the the exceptionally gifted Venetians on a steamy train ride pouring their rocknroll hearts out in all to their hillbilly-folk, old-style americana and delta blues manners. Feel comfortable sitting between British invasion purists, indie lightweights, power pop fanatics and battery charged 45 record players of outlaw front-porch hangarounds. It´s threatening to do the MOJOMATICS justice. Guitar player and howler Matteo Bordin is the most talented and fascinating guy, in combination with the somnambulistic on the spot and uncompromisingly good drumming of Davide we have that music loving outfit - from the past. They don´t make it easy for the "two-men-band" press with hiring good friend and amazing bass player Gabriele from Sardinia to join for the MOJOMATICS as a constant member. Chapter closed, no more two men band extra points. Without any notice they added a bass and are now just a regular band? They put on great shows on their euopean tour and the bass was there and it was just great! As a matter of fact, Gabriele is breathtaking bass playing blood brother. But can you imagine they would team up with a guy not their class? Right. Still, the MOJOMATICS go straight on their stony way of having a non fireworks, go-go´s, wreak havoc any extra thrills circus. You won´t hear long stories or the same old jokes during breaks. It´s rock and roll! You have three dedicated musicians, sweat till the last drop all for giving you the perfect song - one by one. We´re putting a lot of our being in bands of now and we´re proud as peacocks that the songs of the MOJOMATICS, HEX DISPENSERS and FEVERS will stay while others´ have not a ghost of a chance. On their last European Tour, Alex Cuervo of the HEX DISPENSERS noted after sharing stages with the Mojos- "Never ever let my band going on after you again". We had the pleasure to witness the HEX DISPENSERS four times on this tour and we breakin' out a great big smile on this. Be sure we´d quit jobs for that world tour package whoever is first. The MOJOMATICS rule the country of pasta & red wine, headlining festivals, sitting on MTV and ROLLING STONE couches and got ASKED to be featured on every chewing gum comic strip. As you imagine some definitely did not read the new album title properly. But to all members of the garage rock inner circle out there, the MOJOMATICS are the down to earth guys, full of fun and eager as you met them and imagine - just travel from north pole to South Africa! Now come on CANADA, AUSTRALIA and USA. Let the MOJOMATICS play in bar basements. You will go home with a smile and the certainty of another night the good guys won.

THE MOJOMATICS "Songs for Faraway Lovers" LP/CD

With the MOJOMATICS new album the world stands still for a second, irritated by a rockn´roll star shining brighter than usually in the sky. The crusade starteted three years ago from the lovely alleyways of Venice. MojoMatt (guitar, vocs) and DavMatic (drums, percussion) are rollin´ on a wave of enthusiasm which can´t be found a second time down there. We´ve seen no other band beeing so much on the road playing tons of exciting shows all over Europe and winning the hearts of their audience. They are young, smart, joyful, have style and they know the trick and have the obsession to write songs which are timless classics and would excite, no matter in what time they live.

Revel the given minority status of rocknroll? Aural déja-vu? We´re talking 2006 and the MOJOMATICS are here to entertain and live their dream, and are ready to fulfill asprirations given by the definition of rocknroll. „Songs For Faraway Lovers” is their second full length after various 45s and their highly acclaimed debut album “A Sweet Mama Gonna Hoodoo Me”. It is produced by themselves thru 2006. They took their whole songbook and entered recording sessions in the Adria lagoons, windy mountains and dusty basements to complete an impressive new album. Defined as blues encrusted punk tunes with a lot of rootsy pop harmonies and rambling´country-esque edges the MOJOMATICS pour out even more hooks on their second record and reveal their folk and blues roots with some typical american folky ballads. In every moment you got shaken by their agitated melancholia, in the next you feel the unrestless fresh fun they create out of their half century old influences. The pop sensibility on their walking blues trip thru the Mississippi Delta's paths is a shelter from the storm of mindless puppets. On “Songs For Faraway Lovers ” you find 12 cuts, 10 genuine songs and with “Stealin” and “Hard Travelin” two traditionals arranged by the MOJOMATICS. If one two-men-band does sound like the full throttle New Orleans marching band, the MOJOMATICS do! They got the magic to make your eyes wet just listening to their tunes, they prove that nice guys who love what they do win in this hype-ridden world. The prize? Beeing on the road, seeing ordinary garage rock and roll hustlers stomp their feet, suicide girls dancing, and musicologists and other high-art connoisseur take their hats off. We´re dancin´ to their songs for a while, now it´s your turn. If you've missed them on the last tour, call it love on the rebound and join them on the way to nowhere. The LP is on heavy vinyl and will come with a printed cardboard inner sleeve while the CD has the “No Place to Go” Video as bonus, directed by Slowboat films.

THE MOJOMATICS "Nothin about Nothin" 7" 45 RPM

Yeah, those dedicated gentlemen from Venice played themselves in all our hearts and living on a full going success story!

Their 2005 debut album “A sweet mama gonna hoodoo me” sold out two pressings of both formats by now, not to forget about their incredible second more folky 7", “Ballads in the suitcase” on SHAKE YER ASS which is out of print by now. It´s the most active band on the label rooster playing many shows or being in the studio. They lately been on big festival stages and also small beatcaves and also touring with KING KHAN & BBQ. They even recorded some songs with those bloodbrothers which eventually will be released by YAKISAKANA soon. “Nothing´ about Nothing” is one of their catchiest songs with sweet 60´s harmonies and the Mojomatics impeccable own howlin´ harmonica. The other two songs on this 45 are also exclusive to vinyl and are two loud blues dancer stompers. All originals. We love those well dressed simpaticos, the got a truckload of talent and blow their contenders away!! For all newbies, fans of the DEADLY SNAKES or newer BLACK LIPS take note or imagine early WHITE STRIPES join up with BILLY CHILDISH covering ´ the fab four. Mojomatt also recorded RIPPERS, INTELLECTUALS, BBQ and will turn knobs on for the upcoming DEMON CLAWS abum in 2006. The MOJOMATICS are a phenomenon, their records and live shows won fans throughout different genres in no time and we´re damn proud to be part of it. There is also the lim. 98 version on white vinyl, mailorder only.

THE MOJOMATICS "A SWEET MAMA GONNA HOODOO ME" LP/CD

We waited a lot, cancelled a lot - but finally snatched a gem! This is the first and last 2004 ALIEN SNATCH! release and it so we claim your whole attention, fellow!! Start here and you won't be fooled by the pretenders!

File under “Black Roots Punk Music”

Hiding in the night-shrouded lagoons of Venice, the MOJOMATICS, in person MojoMatt (voc, guitar, harp) and DavMatic (drums, percussion), take up your love with taut sails and undeniable spirit of youth. This is a TWO piece jack-off-all-trades lineup and they hit the shit big time. Thru the damn cool SHAKE YOUR ASS label we got their debut 45 “Devil got my women” earlier this year which shook the ground here. Limited to a mere 300 copies it already made it to few great reviews and ravings. Here is “a sweet mama gonna hoodoo me” - sixteen swampy blues encrusted punk tunes with a lot of rootsy pop harmonies and rambling´country-esque edges. The whole slop was produced on their own, not in their garage but Matt´s own analog recording studio, so we got a slab of raw hifi trash! They have the punk drive, kept up with the songwriting craftsmanship this is exactly what we needed now. All songs (but one traditional) are originals and stomp and swagger all over the place. No “for the fans of” namedropping-"music description" here. Sneaked those guys in at a GHETTO WAYS Festival gig and they handed me over their recordings. The whole inbred gang down there is downright nuts.... dancin` naked in brownish underpants…brought up the same wrecked cassette recorder they recorded that infamous BLACK LIPS Live 45 and recorded also that GW show. The LP comes in a splendid eyecatching full color heavy cardboard cover made by GREGO, the first couple hundred copies of the vinyl are on 180g wax. Full European tour coming early 2005 (booked by KISS N RUN) Whahoo, The MOJOMATICS will be featured in the next BAM MAGAZINE with three unreleased songs. No reason to go out this winter!
